Get-out-the-vote kits

Date:2018 Tagged with:merch, social

For the 2018 midterms, I worked with GoodWerk to create a bunch of fundraising and mobilization videos (like “The Betsy Bunch” and “How to Unf*** Our Taxes” — watch them under the Motion section of this portfolio).

One other major get-out-the-vote project stands out: we made these GOTV kits with merch including a poster by illustrator David Alvarado and stickers, buttons, and pins designed by me. We worked with the wonderful folks at Busy Beaver Button Company here in Chicago to pack them up and send them out to organizers and volunteers on college campuses around Illinois.

At the same time, I also designed complementary social media campaign with timely reminders specific to Illinois voters, sharing resources in simple, straightforward, actionable ways. We posted these on Election Day and in the days leading up:

Infographic title: Good Morning. Polls are Open!

Illinois has many flexible options for voters, including same-day registration, which other states don't. With these infographics, we were able to give timely, targeted tips to local voters, while improving on the design and language used by official election materials.
